IBMI Board meeting 2020, with the presence of Academician and former Vice President of Taiwan Chien-Jen Chen, Minister of Health and Welfare Shih-Chung Chen

President Chi-Huey Wong revealed IBMI’s key missions in 2020 as shown below.

I.Precision health as part of wider healthcare industries to be further developed, given that Taiwan has medical and technological advantages.

II.Series of talks on ‘Covid-19: In the midst of every crisis lies great opportunity’, inviting industry experts to envisage strategies for scaling Taiwan’s healthcare industry.

III.In response to emerging information technologies in the healthcare industry, IBMI has worked with the Ministry of Economic Affairs to have incorporated digital health, and strategic biomedical products in the Act for the Development of Biotech and New Pharmaceuticals Industry. The Act was promoted by IBMI in 2007.

IV.The Healthcare+ Expo Taiwan in December, coming with four exhibition themes: 1) disruptive technologies and trends on investment, 2) digital transformation and innovation in healthcare, 3) Global prospects of disease therapeutics, and 4) Deployment of Covid-19 detection technologies, can showcase Taiwan’s medical and technological innovation capabilities through the exhibition platform.

This is the second board meeting of the year, with directors and supervisors in participation.
