A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed yesterday (5 June) between the National Cheng Kung University Hospital (NCKU Hospital) and Yashoda Super Speciality Hospitals of India. The two sides will work together to strengthen the medical cooperation between India and Taiwan, and to promote the industry development in Taiwan, through the exchange of personnel, training of medical staff, and the advancement in medical devices.

In addition, NCKU Hospital has arranged for 12 doctors to come to Taiwan for training and exchange, and many of them have actively sought the opportunity to come to Taiwan for exchange. During this one-week visit to Taiwan, in addition to observing the special medical and smart medical facilities of the National Cheng Kung University Hospital, they will also visit College of Medicine at NCKU and meet with the dean to learn more about the development of medical education in Taiwan; in addition, they will arrange a presentation on Taiwan's medical products and participate in the Medical Taiwan Exhibition.

According to NCKU Hospital, that they have been working under the framework of Taiwan's New Southbound Policy since 2017, expanding official and private medical and health cooperation in India and linking up with industries to develop the Indian medical market. In the post-epidemic era, the hospital has restarted practical cooperation with India, including leading Taiwan manufacturers to participate in medical exhibitions in India, organising international seminars, inviting Indian scholars to visit Taiwan, and selecting Indian doctors to come to Taiwan for exchange and training.
