Chang Gung Medical Foundation
Due to the lack of medical services in Taiwan and the in pursuit to give back to society, the Chang Gung Medical Foundation was founded in 1973 by Formosa Plastic Group founder Yung-Ching Wang along with his brother Yung-Tsai Wang. Since 1976, the foundation has established seven Chang Gung Memorial Hospitals in Taipei, Linkou, Keelung, Kaohsiung, Chiayi, Taoyuan and Yunlin. The foundation has been entrusted by the government to operate Kaohsiung City Fengshan Hospital and New Taipei Municipal TuCheng Hospital and become the largest healthcare system with the most health professions and medical equipment in the Far-East. To make the most effective use of medical resources and respond to the aging society, Chang Gung Nursing Home and Chang Gung Health and Culture Village were built in 1991. The Foundation has vertically integrated healthcare services from acute, subacute, chronic to long-term care and provided the most comprehensive medical care to people in Taiwan.
