Fecula Biotech Co., Ltd. was established in February 2019. The headquarter is located in SME Incubator Center, Southern Taiwan Science Park. In 2020, it was received funding from the National Development Fund Startup Angel Project. In 2022, it was listed on TPEx Go Incubation Board for Startups and Acceleration Firms (GISA) with the stock code 7627, having a paid-in capital of NTD 35 million.
Our mission is to develop innovative and efficient approaches to address the growing agricultural waste issues transforming them into eco-efficient, sustainable product opportunities that directly benefit the environment, economy, and consumers. We have already succussed in converting agro-waste, such as banana, Citrus depressa Hayata, strawberry leaves, and fish scales, into functional food ingredients and supplement products. Furthermore, the strawberry leaf extract has been successfully developed as a cosmetics ingredient, and clinical studies have indicated that it exhibits visible improvements in skin brightness, moisture, and elasticity.
Our core technology is the Resistant Starch-Based Encapsulation Technique (RS-BET) which utilizes banana resistant starch as building block. This innovative approach can be applied to the development of pharmaceuticals and supplements, depending on the specific specifications of the resistant starch. Through the synergistic combination of probiotics and new agricultural resources, we have successfully launched microbiota-related (probiotic) dietary supplements, which have gained a market presence worldwide. Currently, our supplement products are available in the United States and Mainland China through e-commerce channels, in Vietnam through TV shopping, and in Taiwan through e-commerce and pharmacy chain stores of Great Tree Pharmacy Co., Ltd.
In addition to our current achievements, we are actively involved in the development of microbiome-based therapeutics and vaccines, utilizing the core technology of RS-BET. Our pipeline includes the following projects: (1) Oral delivery of HCC vaccine; (2) oral FMT capsule for cancer adjuvant therapy; (3) Botanical drug for the inhibition of cancer invasion and metastasis.
