  • IBMI president Chen awarded the Order of Brilliant Star with Grand Cordon in recognition of his dedication to medical education and research, cross-strait health collaboration and promotion for biomedical quality
  • Propelled cross-strait collaboration in pharmaceuticals and clinical trials, with eight hospitals from both sides involved in Good clinical practice (GCP)
  • IBMI accelerated agreement on cross-strait healthcare cooperation signed during the sixth Chiang-Chen Talk 
  • Contributed to the overall inspection of biomedical policies, facilitated the Amendment of the Fundamental Science and Technology Act, the Human Biobank Management Act, and the Medical Care Act amendments
  • Assisted the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention with developing feasibility assessment of products for epidemic management and prevention
  • Formed the third board of directors (2009-2011), Jin-Pyng Wang elected as IBMI Founder, Prof. Wei-Chao Chen as President and Chi-Huey Wong as Chief Counsellor.

  • Organised public hearings for the relaxation of Health Food Control Act that set a framework of ‘evidence-based’ or ‘specification standards’ applied to health food
  • Founded the Institute for Biotechnology and Medicine Industry (IBMI), inviting the President of Taiwan to host inauguration and mark the start of IBMI leadership by Jin-Pyng Wang along with the board of directors
