Lotus Pharmaceutical to Acquire Five Drug Licenses in Vietnam for NT$457 Million, Accelerating ASEAN Expansion

On the 18th, Lotus Pharmaceutical announced that its subsidiary, Lotus International Pte. Ltd., has signed an asset purchase agreement with Vietnam’s Duy Tan Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company. The deal involves acquiring trademarks, drug marketing approvals, and manufacturing supply agreements for five pharmaceutical products in Vietnam for a total consideration not exceeding USD 15.5 million (approximately NT$457 million). The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter.

The acquired product portfolio includes Betahema, Folinato, Carmotop, Venosan, and Espacox, covering therapeutic areas such as hematology, cardiovascular, oncology, and anti-inflammatory treatments. This portfolio generated sales of about USD 8 million in Vietnam in 2024 and achieved a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 22% from 2022 to 2024, demonstrating strong commercial potential in the local market.

Petar Vazharov, General Manager of Lotus, stated that this acquisition represents a significant step in expanding Lotus’s footprint in the Southeast Asian market. The robust past growth of these high-quality, reasonably priced drugs further reinforces Lotus’s confidence in their future success.

According to the agreement terms, the transaction is subject to certain closing conditions. Upon fulfillment, Lotus will pay Duy Tan up to USD 15.5 million. Based on the exchange rate of NT$29.52 to USD 1 on the 18th, the deal amounts to approximately NT$457 million, with closing anticipated in the third quarter of 2025.
