At its institutional investor conference on the 25th, Sofiva Genomics outlined its three major strategic priorities, with Chairman Yi-Ning Su personally presenting the company’s vision: integration into Taiwan’s NGS (next-generation sequencing) national health insurance coverage, active expansion into cancer and Alzheimer’s genetic screening markets, and growth in PGT-A applications in assisted reproduction. As the scope of its products and services continues to expand, Sofiva Genomics is poised for a new wave of growth.
Su noted that Sofiva has completed laboratory certification and product compliance applications required for inclusion in the NHI NGS reimbursement system. More than ten of its testing items now meet the group’s strategic standards for insurance coverage, spanning 14 types of solid tumors and 5 types of hematologic cancers. This marks Sofiva’s official entry into the NHI system and is expected to bring stable and positive contributions to operations.
Sofiva is also actively moving into two high-potential preventive health markets: early cancer detection and Alzheimer’s risk assessment. In line with government policy, Taiwan’s cancer screening budget will increase from NT$2.8 billion in 2024 to NT$6.8 billion in 2025, significantly strengthening national cancer prevention efforts. Sofiva proposes a “dual-layer defense” strategy that combines traditional health exams with genetic cancer screening, aiming to address current gaps in identifying inherited risks and promote personalized preventive medicine.
Recognizing the rising prevalence of dementia in an aging society, Sofiva is targeting the Alzheimer’s genetic screening market, specifically APOE testing. The company plans to offer integrated solutions combining genetic risk prediction and drug safety assessment, capitalizing on the fast-growing demand in elderly care. With two Aβ-targeting antibody therapies having already received TFDA approval for Alzheimer’s treatment indications by 2025, genetic testing is expected to become a cornerstone of personalized treatment, reinforcing its role in senior health management.
In its long-standing focus on assisted reproduction, Sofiva is further enhancing its preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) offerings. With rising maternal age and increasing demand for embryo quality, market demand is growing significantly. The company continues to optimize its technologies and services, particularly in addressing the clinically debated issue of mosaic embryos, and aligning its practices with international consensus, aiming to become a key provider of reproductive genetic testing in Asia.
Sofiva Genomics reaffirmed its commitment to three core strategies: the localization of precision medicine, the mainstreaming of preventive healthcare, and the personalization of testing services. By integrating NHI policy alignment, clinical application, and health screening distribution channels, the company aims to drive stable revenue growth and deliver long-term value to its shareholders.
