Health Supplement Industry Expands Aggressively Overseas
2025-07-29

As global awareness of health and wellness continues to rise, Taiwanese health supplement companies are accelerating their expansion into international markets in search of new growth drivers. Recently, three companies—TCI Co., SHINY BRS GROUP, and Jia Jie Biomedical—have simultaneously advanced into overseas markets, launching full-scale efforts across Europe, the U.S., Japan, Southeast Asia, and Mainland China to capture international revenue growth opportunities.

The health supplement industry is benefiting from the global trend toward wellness and upgraded consumer spending, with export momentum becoming increasingly robust. According to biotech firms, the latest United Nations report forecasts the global population will reach 9.8 billion by 2050, with over 1.5 billion people aged 65 and above—accounting for approximately 16% of the total population—indicating a rapidly aging demographic structure. At the same time, advancements in medical technology are contributing to longer life expectancies. The World Health Organization reported the global average life expectancy was 72 years in 2019 and is expected to rise to 74.3 years by 2030, making preventive healthcare a top priority for consumers around the world.

TCI Co. has been accelerating its expansion into the European and American markets since the beginning of this year. Following the ongoing expansion of its powder packaging plant in the U.S., the company plans to establish its first production base in Europe in Spain this year, which will serve as a strategic foothold for entering the European market. Spain not only offers geographic advantages but is also the host of Vitafoods Europe, one of the world's leading nutraceutical exhibitions, making it an ideal hub for connecting with industry resources. Adopting a light-asset model, TCI intends to acquire an existing facility in Spain and install its own production lines, with the aim of starting operations by the end of this year to enhance local manufacturing capacity and delivery efficiency. TCI has already penetrated markets in Germany, Italy, and France, and with localized production, it is well-positioned to further expand into more countries across Europe.

SHINY BRS GROUP, which primarily focuses on its own brand products, is also strengthening its international push. The company stated that several of its products are expected to receive import approvals in the second half of this year and will be launched in markets such as the U.S., Japan, and Thailand, driving significant overseas revenue growth. SHINY BRS GROUP has already established sales channels in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Over the next three years, the company will focus on Asia and North America as its main growth drivers, aiming to increase brand visibility through localized product adaptation, digital marketing, and strategic partnerships. Its goal is to maintain double-digit growth in overseas revenue contribution.

Jia Jie Biomedical is targeting the potential of the Mainland China market, with plans to launch products on cross-border e-commerce platforms as early as the second half of this year. The company has already completed customs filing for nearly ten products in China and is actively seeking local distribution partners to expand its channel coverage. Beyond cross-border e-commerce, the company will also consider further localized deployment based on market response, with expectations of adding new growth momentum to its operations next year.
