
PharmaEssentia’s rare blood cancer drug Ropeg continued to deliver strong sales performance in the U.S. and global markets, driving the company’s July revenue to NT$1.3 billion, a historic monthly high, representing an 8.76% increase from June and a 48.01% increase year-on-year. Cumulative revenue for January through July reached NT$8.16 billion, up 68.65% year-on-year.
Chief Executive Officer Ko-Chung Lin stated that with a steadily growing patient base in key markets, the company expects to maintain its momentum of sequential growth throughout the second half of the year. He added that progress on the new indication for essential thrombocythemia (ET) has been smooth, with regulatory approval anticipated next year, making the company’s future outlook highly promising.
On the global expansion front, PharmaEssentia has submitted a marketing application to Health Canada for Ropeg in the treatment of polycythemia vera (PV), further extending its reach across the Americas. The company also aims to secure approvals in Mexico and Canada in the near future to accelerate global market penetration.
The ET indication application is also advancing steadily. PharmaEssentia targets global approvals for ET starting in 2026, and has already begun commercial readiness activities, including building sales, marketing, and market access strategies. This new indication is expected to become the company’s second major growth engine.
On July 18, the company submitted a meeting request to the U.S. FDA, which has confirmed a meeting will be held in September. PharmaEssentia also plans to submit ET applications in Taiwan and Japan by the end of this year, pending smooth progress. Meanwhile, on July 16, China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) officially accepted the ET application and requested additional information to facilitate its review, signaling that the regulatory process is underway.
To strengthen global sales momentum in the second half of the year, PharmaEssentia has significantly expanded its commercial teams in the U.S. and Japan, increasing headcount by 65% and 45%, respectively. The company has also launched intensive training programs covering product expertise, field simulations, performance tracking, and digital tools, ensuring precise communication and effective execution of sales strategies.
