TTY Biopharm Expands Hematologic Oncology Portfolio with Selinexor, the World’s First Oral Selective Nuclear Export Inhibitor, Adding a New Growth Engine from October
2025-11-27

TTY Biopharm is further strengthening its presence in the hematologic oncology segment with the introduction of Selinexor, the world’s first oral selective inhibitor of nuclear export protein (SINE). The company recently secured exclusive marketing and distribution rights from a leading international pharmaceutical manufacturer. Already approved in the U.S., Europe, and other advanced markets, Selinexor is now reimbursed under Taiwan’s National Health Insurance (NHI) program as of October for eligible patients upon physician evaluation—marking a new growth driver for TTY’s oncology operations.

Multiple myeloma primarily affects older adults aged 60 to 70. Clinical data indicate that approximately 700 to 800 new cases are diagnosed in Taiwan each year, making it one of the most common hematologic malignancies among the elderly. Building upon its established hematologic oncology portfolio, TTY Biopharm has introduced the FDA- and EMA-approved oral inhibitor Selinexor to address this unmet medical need.

According to Sara Hou (侯靜蘭), General Manager of TTY Biopharm, Selinexor represents a new-generation therapy in the hematologic oncology field. The drug has been incorporated into several international oncology treatment guidelines and is approved for marketing in more than 50 countries worldwide. In Taiwan, Selinexor has been approved by the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) for indications including multiple myeloma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). With its official inclusion in TTY’s hematologic oncology lineup this October, the oral inhibitor not only enhances the company’s growth momentum but also benefits over a hundred relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma patients annually.

Hou emphasized that TTY Biopharm has long established a strong foundation in hematologic oncology with immunomodulatory drugs such as Thalidomide and Lenalidomide, which are key first-line therapies for multiple myeloma. In recent years, the company has expanded its portfolio by introducing novel mechanism-based biologics like the monoclonal antibody Tafasitamab and now Selinexor. This diversified and synergistic product strategy enhances therapeutic flexibility and reinforces TTY’s competitive advantage across multiple hematologic oncology fronts.

In alignment with Taiwan’s “Healthy Taiwan 2030” policy—aimed at reducing national cancer mortality by one-third—Hou noted that TTY Biopharm is deepening its service coverage across four major cancer clusters: hematologic cancers, lung cancer, breast/gynecologic and upper gastrointestinal cancers, as well as head and neck and colorectal cancers. Through an integrated pharmaceutical approach, the company strives to provide patients with comprehensive care options—from early to late-line treatments and from therapeutic to supportive medications—ensuring a resilient and reliable drug supply chain.

Looking ahead to the second half of the year, TTY Biopharm will continue advancing its “three-pronged growth strategy” of difficult-to-export generics, in-licensed novel drugs, and proprietary drug development. The company aims to strengthen its domestic and international footprint with a focused portfolio in lung cancer, breast cancer, hematologic malignancies, next-generation antibiotics, and preventive vaccines—further driving its expansion into global markets.
