On the evening of the 20th, UNIVERSAL CEMENT announced that its board approved a NT$600 million acquisition, at NT$30 per share, authorizing subsidiary Uneo Technology to acquire 100% of the shares of U.S.-based Tekscan Holdco, Inc., including operational working capital. Uneo Technology will leverage Tekscan’s expertise in electronic skin to provide customers with complete training tools for robotic AI dexterous hands and sensor components for robotics.

UNIVERSAL CEMENT stated that with the rise of the AI robotics industry and the U.S. government’s emphasis on local manufacturing, Uneo Technology’s acquisition of Tekscan, a leading U.S. pressure sensor company, will strengthen R&D, manufacturing capabilities, and business presence in the U.S. Market expectations indicate that following Uneo Technology’s full acquisition of Tekscan, UNIVERSAL CEMENT is poised to quickly enter the global AI robotics supply chain.

Tekscan Holdco, Inc. and Uneo Technology are among the only two companies worldwide possessing advanced pressure-sensing technologies. Founded in 1987 in Boston by MIT alumni, Tekscan has become a global leader in thin-film tactile pressure sensors and systems, with extensive experience integrating tactile sensing into industrial robotic grippers.
