Medical device manufacturer BIOTEQUE announced its third-quarter financial results, demonstrating resilience against the NT dollar–USD exchange rate impact. Driven by strong sales of high-margin TPU intravascular catheters, gross margin rose to 45.26%, the best performance of the year, up three percentage points from the previous quarter. Net profit after tax reached NT$136 million, with earnings per share (EPS) of 1.98, also marking the highest point this year. Looking ahead to Q4, revenue is expected to remain stable compared with Q3, with full-year EPS projected to exceed 7.
TPU intravascular catheters, BIOTEQUE’s highest-margin product line, achieve a gross margin of up to 70%. With existing clients continuing to expand mass production and new clients entering small-scale production, the first half of the year saw a 27% growth, and momentum carried into Q3. The full year is expected to maintain roughly 30% year-on-year growth. Production is mainly concentrated at the Longde facility, accounting for 90% of output.
For lower-priced blood circuit tubing facing competition from China, expansion into the Philippine domestic market proved effective. Increasing sales volume helped reduce average production costs, supporting Q3 operations.
Over 80% of BIOTEQUE’s revenue comes from exports, and exchange rate pressures have continued to constrain revenue growth. Q3 revenue reached NT$519 million, slightly below Q2’s NT$530 million. However, an optimized product mix, improved capacity utilization, and stabilization of the USD exchange rate pushed gross margin to 45.26%, the highest this year, up three percentage points from the previous quarter. Net profit after tax increased 21% quarter-over-quarter to NT$136 million, with EPS at 1.98, marking the highest level in the past four quarters.
Cumulative revenue for the first three quarters was NT$1.568 billion, roughly flat compared with the same period last year. Gross margin rose slightly to 43.59% from 42.98% last year. Operating profit totaled NT$489 million, exceeding last year’s NT$480 million, while net profit attributable to the parent company was NT$383 million, slightly below last year’s NT$394 million, with EPS of 5.54.
