Health2Sync announced on the 18th that it will officially begin trading on Taiwan’s Emerging Stock Market on the 19th, marking a major milestone as a leading player in Asia’s digital health sector. With global diabetes treatment expenditures exceeding US$1 trillion and the number of patients projected to reach 643 million by 2030, Health2Sync positions itself as a “chronic disease AI smart healthcare platform.” By integrating the needs of hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, insurers, and governments, the company leverages AI and data technologies to address imbalances in care resources and to build a new business model that combines “medical innovation with insurance-driven revenue generation.”
Since its founding in 2013, Health2Sync has benefited from broad device compatibility. Its Health2Sync App and cloud-based care platform connect patients with healthcare providers, offering integrated management of blood glucose, blood pressure, body weight, exercise, diet, insulin dosing, and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). It was also among the first companies in Taiwan to integrate data from the National Health Insurance personal health records. To date, the Health2Sync App has accumulated more than 1.6 million users worldwide and over 180 million health data records, making it the largest chronic disease data platform in Asia. Through the cloud care platform, healthcare professionals can apply AI-driven data analysis to provide real-time interventions, including medication adjustments and lifestyle guidance, supporting effective management of hypertension, chronic kidney disease, prediabetes, obesity, and other chronic conditions.
Ed Deng, co-founder and CEO of Health2Sync, noted that the National Health Insurance Administration’s growing emphasis on chronic disease management in recent years has created tangible growth momentum for the industry. Initiatives such as President Lai Ching-te’s “Healthy Taiwan – 888 Plan for the Prevention and Control of the Three Highs” encourage the gradual inclusion of patients with hypertension, hyperglycemia, and hyperlipidemia into digital care management. As one of the first approved providers under the National Health Insurance Digital Care Incentive Program, Health2Sync has achieved an HbA1c control rate of 66.24% among its users, significantly outperforming the national average of 44.1%. Real-world data further show that patients who consistently use the Health2Sync App experience greater and more sustained improvements in blood glucose control. Deng emphasized that government policy support, together with a more active capital market in Taiwan, has strengthened the company’s determination to remain rooted in Taiwan and pursue a domestic listing.
Discussing the company’s product strategy, Deng said that Health2Sync is not merely developing a mobile app. Years of accumulated data enable the company to serve five key stakeholders—patients, healthcare institutions, pharmaceutical companies, insurers, and governments—while generating stable revenue through a B2B business model. One example is Insultrate®, an insulin dose adjustment software embedded in the Health2Sync App, which has become Taiwan’s first digital therapeutic to receive a Class II medical device approval from the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA). Traditionally, patients relied on personal experience to adjust insulin doses, leading to significant human variability and low adherence, which contributed to relatively low insulin usage rates and suboptimal glycemic control in Taiwan. With Insultrate®, users can receive physician-prescribed insulin dose recommendations directly through the app. Health2Sync is also collaborating with Sanofi to seek National Health Insurance reimbursement for this digital therapeutic; if approved as early as 2026, it could become a new revenue driver.
Since 2023, Health2Sync has also actively expanded into Japan’s corporate health insurance association (Kenpo) market, adopting a value-based healthcare model to provide personalized and real-time employee health promotion services for local governments and large enterprises. The company has partnered with more than 55 corporations and municipalities, including Mitsubishi Electric, Hitachi, NTT, Osaka City, and Yokohama City. Revenue from this segment has doubled year over year for two consecutive years and is expected to become the company’s second-largest revenue source in 2025.
Through deep collaborations with global pharmaceutical and medical device leaders such as Sanofi, Novo Nordisk, and Abbott, Health2Sync continues to expand its international footprint. Deng stated that the company aims to emulate U.S.-based Omada Health, which focuses on scalable chronic disease management and prevention models and has successfully listed on Nasdaq with a valuation of US$1–1.5 billion. As Asia’s largest chronic disease management platform, Health2Sync demonstrates significant growth potential.
Looking ahead, Health2Sync plans to achieve profitability within two years and to continue developing new services, including digital intervention modules for GLP-1 therapies, obesity, and chronic kidney disease, to deliver AI-driven health management solutions. Beyond addressing healthcare workforce shortages through digitalization, the company aims to use Taiwan as its base to propel Asia’s digital health industry onto the global stage and to reshape the future of chronic disease care worldwide.
