EVER FORTUNE AI TECHNOLOGY unveiled the prototype of its first generative AI care robot, “AiBao,” at its investor conference on the 25th. The robot is scheduled to undergo a three-month on-site proof-of-concept (POC) trial at China Medical University Hospital starting in October, with mass production planned for the first quarter of next year. The company aims to tap into the NT$50 billion market over five years under the “Healthy Taiwan Deepening Plan.”
The robot was developed by EverBot Technology, a joint venture between EVER FORTUNE AI TECHNOLOGY and Phison Electronics, in which EVER FORTUNE holds a 41% stake. EverBot is currently undergoing a capital increase, expected to raise its registered capital to NT$400 million.
General Manager of EVER FORTUNE and Chairman of EverBot, Yu-Cheng Lee, stated that the first-generation robot offers four main services: navigation, health education consultation, meal ordering, and remote ward rounds. The company will adopt a leasing model rather than outright sales, charging NT$500,000–800,000 per year. As the product does not involve medical regulations, orders began two months ago, with proposals submitted to more than ten hospitals. With the first-phase review just approved, mass production could start by the end of this year or early next year. The second-generation medical-grade robot is expected to launch soon to further differentiate from competitors.
Chairman Ming-Fong Chen highlighted that healthcare is gradually entering the “4.0” era, with the global medical AI market projected to achieve a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12–18% from 2023 to 2033. While applications in Europe and the U.S. are the most mature, the Asia-Pacific region is growing fastest due to rising incomes, lifestyle changes, and the rapid increase in chronic diseases such as diabetes, creating urgent demand for AI-assisted health and disease management.
According to WHO estimates, by 2030, the global healthcare workforce shortage will reach 18 million, half of which will be nurses. The Ministry of Health and Welfare projects a nursing shortfall of 60,000–80,000 nationwide by 2030. AiBao is Taiwan’s first generative AI care robot, and internal assessments at EverBot estimate that the first-generation AiBao can reduce nursing workload by 30%, increasing to 50% with the second generation.
Yu-Cheng Lee noted that two contract manufacturers have already been engaged for production. Six Taiwan patents have been filed, with U.S. and European patent applications planned for December. Next year, the company will focus on market opportunities including the Healthy Taiwan Deepening Plan and the AI Ten Major Infrastructure initiatives.
Ming-Fong Chen added that EVER FORTUNE currently holds 50 domestic and international medical device licenses, including 13 from the U.S. FDA, 20 from Taiwan TFDA, 5 from Thailand, 6 from Malaysia, 5 from Vietnam, and 1 from Singapore. With the addition of the care robot to operations, the company expects accelerated growth next year and a stronger market impact in the following year.
