Acer Medical × FIG × Fujitsu Launch AI Exercise Assessment App to Promote Health-Oriented Insurance
2025-12-13

Following its mid-year collaboration with Fujitsu Limited to launch the aiGait powered by UvanceAI solution, Acer Medical on October 24 announced a three-party partnership with the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) to digitize FIG’s senior gymnastics programs using AI technology. The project also introduces a points-based “health-promoting insurance” concept to encourage adoption and long-term sustainability.

The previously launched aiGait powered by UvanceAI solution is currently undergoing pilot testing at the Day Care Center affiliated with Taipei Veterans General Hospital. By leveraging Fujitsu’s high-precision AI skeletal recognition technology, the system can analyze patients’ movements and gait abnormalities, assisting medical professionals in the early detection of dementia and Parkinson’s disease, thereby improving clinical diagnosis and intervention efficiency.

Under the new three-party collaboration, Acer Medical uses AI to digitize FIG’s senior gymnastics programs promoted by the Ageing Society Working Group (ASWG) and develops a dedicated app. Integrated with Fujitsu’s advanced AI skeletal recognition technology, the app allows users to record their exercise via smartphone camera while performing FIG ASWG routines. It then analyzes posture, muscle strength, and joint mobility to evaluate movement accuracy and provides personalized exercise recommendations based on the results.

FIG conducted on-site trials of the app during the 53rd World Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Jakarta, Indonesia (October 23–24, 2025), allowing local seniors to experience the app firsthand.

To further encourage adoption and long-term development, the three parties will jointly explore the “health-promoting insurance” model. Exercise assessment results and health check participation records captured by the app will be converted into points that users can redeem for insurance premium discounts or other benefits. A one-year evaluation period is planned to review details such as user surveys and the selection of participating insurance companies, with gradual rollout of the service.

Through this initiative, FIG aims to expand senior gymnastics participation and accelerate the realization of ASWG’s vision of “extending healthy life through exercise,” targeting approximately 30 million participants in FIG’s global gymnastics programs. The project also aligns with the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Action Plan on Public Health for Dementia.

Fujitsu will leverage its advanced AI skeletal recognition technology to promote senior health and, through its Uvance business model, continue collaborating with Uvance Partners to create data- and AI-driven smart health management services, enhancing social welfare.

Acer Medical will further enhance the abnormal gait detection functionality within aiGait, addressing the needs of an aging society for preventive medicine and smart healthcare. The company is committed to transforming everyday movements—such as standing, sitting, and walking—into clinically valuable objective metrics, helping medical professionals and caregivers detect subtle changes early and intervene in a timely manner to improve patient health outcomes.
