PharmaEssentia held its investor conference yesterday (6th), announcing expanded indications for its flagship drug Ropeg and continued advancement of first-in-class (FiC) and best-in-class (BiC) new drug candidates. The company expects five new drug programs to enter human clinical trials (IND) next year. In addition, PharmaEssentia has formally launched a strategic collaboration with Taiwan Bio-Manufacturing Corporation (TBMC) to jointly advance into the cell therapy field.
PharmaEssentia is actively expanding Ropeg’s new indications. Its global Phase 3 trial for patients with early-stage primary myelofibrosis or low- to intermediate-1-risk overt primary myelofibrosis has already enrolled more than ten patients and is expected to complete enrollment in March next year. At the same time, the company is extending Ropeg’s development into indications beyond MPNs, including cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) and chronic myeloid leukemia (CML).
PharmaEssentia is also progressing a series of FiC and BiC innovative therapies, with five programs slated to enter clinical trials next year. These include long-acting PEG-IL2, the PD1-IL2 bispecific fusion protein, an antibody–drug conjugate (ADC), and two cell therapy candidates—NY-ESO-1 TCR-T and an additional next-generation TCR-T therapy.
To strengthen its capabilities in cell therapy, PharmaEssentia’s board has approved an investment of up to NT$930 million in TBMC. The company noted that TBMC brings extensive expertise in antibody and ADC development and has established process development and analytical laboratories in the Taipei Bioinnovation Park. The partnership is already underway and is expected to accelerate PharmaEssentia’s development timelines and support the advancement of new drug programs into the IND phase.
For the first three quarters, PharmaEssentia reported revenue of NT$10.754 billion, a year-on-year increase of 61.16%. Gross margin reached 89.39%, up 1.69 percentage points; operating margin hit 31.31%, up 13.4 percentage points; and net income after tax rose to NT$3.569 billion, an increase of 106%. Earnings per share reached NT$9.66. All three indicators—revenue, net income, and EPS—achieved record highs.
PharmaEssentia remains optimistic about sustaining strong growth in both revenue and profitability. Based on current trends, the company expects revenue to continue increasing quarter by quarter. At the same time, it plans to accelerate its growth trajectory while maintaining disciplined control of operating expenses, projecting continued strengthening of profit momentum.
