Obigen Pharma (a subsidiary of OBI Pharma) will list on the Emerging Stock Market on Nov 24 with a reference price of NT$50. Its flagship product, OBI-858, is currently in Phase III trials in Taiwan, with a U.S. Phase II IND planned for next year.
Strategic Pillars for Growth
CEO Winnie Wang outlined three key strategies:
- Product Differentiation: OBI-858 features a unique 760 kDa structure and a highly purified manufacturing process, including Halal certification, to stand out in the competitive global aesthetic market.
- Accelerated Regulatory Path: Botulinum toxin trials typically have shorter cycles. By leveraging comparable data between Taiwan and the U.S., the company aims to enhance its bargaining power for multinational licensing.
- Long-Acting Formulation & Medical Applications: Beyond aesthetics, AP Bio is targeting long-acting variants and medical indications such as cervical dystonia, migraines, and spasticity.
The company’s self-owned PIC/S GMP facility ensures full control over the production of high-potency protein drugs, providing a robust foundation for global commercialization and patent protection in 12 countries.
