The Next "Biotech Gold Mine": Taiwan’s Radiopharmaceutical Supply Chain Targets $55.8 Billion Global Market
2026-05-04

As precision oncology shifts toward "Theranostics" (combined diagnostics and therapeutics), the global radiopharmaceutical market is projected to surge to US$55.8 billion by 2035. Taiwan has rapidly mobilized an 11-company supply chain—including Pet Pharm Biotech, Heron Neutron Medical, and Ever Fortune. AI—to capture this high-growth sector.

  • Pet Pharm Biotech’s Expansion: Specialized in PET diagnostic tracers for Alzheimer’s and cancer, Pet Pharm Biotech is investing NT$1.5 billion to build a next-generation radiopharma plant in Miaoli, slated for production by late 2027. The company is also collaborating with HoneyBear on Antibody-Radionuclide Conjugates (ARC), viewed as the next evolution beyond ADCs.
  • Heron Neutron Medical’s BNCT Ecosystem: Heron Neutron Medical is leading the charge in Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT). Its boron-containing drug, BPA, is expected to receive drug certification by 2026, integrating with Heron Neutron Medical’s proprietary neutron irradiation equipment for a localized "drug-device" solution.
  • AI Integration: Ever Fortune. AI achieved a global first with its Seg Pro V3 software, which became the first AI radiotherapy tool to pass the US FDA’s PCCP (Predetermined Change Control Plan). The system automatically contours 182 organs at risk during radiotherapy, significantly improving clinical efficiency.
