Nanya Plastics, a subsidiary of the Formosa Plastics Group, announced yesterday (16th) its intention to expand into the regenerative medicine sector. The board has authorized an investment of up to NT$210 million in Apexcella Biomedical.

Nanya stated that Apexcella Biomedical specializes in cell culture media production with over a decade of experience and a global distribution network across 23 channels. Nanya currently produces high-value medical devices, including leucocyte reduction blood bags, cell culture bags, vacuum blood collection tubes, and anti-adhesion barriers for surgery.

By investing in Apexcella Biomedical, Nanya aims to integrate its closed-system cell culture bags—which feature high gas permeability and customizable designs—with Arise's media products. This strategic investment is intended to deepen cooperation, expand sales channels, and secure a foothold in the rapidly growing regenerative medicine supply chain.
