OBI Pharma Reports Clinical Trial Setback for Hematologic Cancer Drug
2026-05-25

OBI Pharma announced yesterday (March 4) that it has been notified by the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG) regarding the clinical trial for OBI-3424.

The Phase I/II trial, led by SWOG with OBI Pharma providing the investigational drug, targeted T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL) and T-cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma (T-LBL). Preliminary analysis of the first stage of Phase II indicated that the results did not meet the pre-specified criteria for continuation. Consequently, SWOG will terminate the trial in the near future.

OBI Pharma clarified that this termination is strictly limited to these specific T-cell hematologic indications and the specific trial design led by SWOG; development in other areas remains unaffected.
