Minister of Economic Affairs Kung Ming-hsin pointed out a significant discrepancy in the biotech sector: while the total market capitalization of listed biotech stocks reached NT$1.6 trillion, the actual annual revenue was only NT$775.4 billion last year. He urged companies to increase physical output and revenue to ensure a healthier industrial structure.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) Three-Pronged Strategy:

1. Pharmaceutical Support: Promoting local manufacturing of new drugs to create value and attract talent, utilizing government subsidies, and upgrading the generic drug industry through advanced manufacturing processes.
2. Smart Medical Devices: Implementing a "Software-driven Hardware" strategy, prioritizing Hospital-at-Home applications and integrating AI into traditional medical device manufacturing.
3. Global Integration: Strengthening CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) capabilities and supply chain resilience to play a more vital role in the regionalized global economy.
