OBI Pharma Focuses on ADC as Core Growth Strategy
2025-07-14

At the shareholders’ meeting on the 27th, OBI Pharma CEO Heidi Wang announced that following the termination of the Globo H program, the company has realigned its strategy to concentrate on antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) products and platform technology licensing as its primary growth driver moving forward.

Wang emphasized that OBI Pharma has completed organizational optimization and workforce restructuring, focusing resources on advancing ADC platform technologies with high technical potential and novel ADC candidates through early-stage clinical development. Facing the challenges of high costs, risks, and lengthy timelines associated with phase III clinical trials, the company will prioritize more cost-effective and faster phase I and II trials, adopting a leaner and more flexible operational model to accelerate drug development. Licensing and partnerships will serve as the main commercial approach.

With over seven years of experience in ADC development, OBI Pharma continues to invest in innovative ADC designs and employs AI-assisted drug development to promote precision therapies. Current focus areas include TROP2-targeting candidates OBI-902 and OBI-992, NECTIN-4-targeting OBI-904, and the bispecific antibody monotherapy OBI-201. At this shareholders’ meeting, OBI Pharma publicly introduced for the first time its bispecific, dual-drug ADC platform (targeting c-MET×HER3), which integrates two antibodies and two payloads to more precisely target tumors and overcome drug resistance.

OBI Pharma has established five key innovative ADC technologies. To integrate these technologies and enhance development and collaboration flexibility, the company has officially named its ADC core technology platform “Obrion,” which supports versatile ADC development and flexible licensing.
