Primo Biotechnology Completes Series A Funding, Targets Emerging Stock Board Listing by 2026
2025-07-15

As global pharmaceutical giants Eli Lilly, AstraZeneca, and Novartis aggressively expand into the radiopharmaceutical market, Taiwan-based startup Primo Biotechnology Co., Ltd. is gaining momentum, announcing the successful completion of its Series A funding round.

This round raised NT$220 million, co-led by TaiAn Technologies, SinoPac Holdings, and the National Development Fund’s Phase II SME Investment Enhancement Program. With the addition of previous seed and early-stage investments, Primo’s total funding has surpassed NT$500 million, laying a strong foundation for future growth. The company aims to file for Emerging Stock Board listing and initiate its IPO process in 2026, positioning itself as a leader in Asia’s radiopharmaceutical industry.

Dr. Ya-Yao Huang, CEO and Co-founder of Primo Biotechnology, stated:
“Since our inception, Primo has been dedicated to developing the next generation of radioligand theranostics (RLT), using advanced precision medicine technologies to combat cancer. In April of this year, we received both PIC/S GMP and GDP international certifications for our nuclear medicine radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility, underscoring our commitment to stringent drug quality standards. The newly raised funds will be directed toward new drug development, clinical trial planning, and product pipeline expansion, as we prepare for public listing in 2026.”

In terms of technological advancement and market expansion, Primo has recently secured an exclusive licensing agreement with ABX advanced biochemical compounds GmbH, a global leader in radiopharmaceuticals. Under this partnership, Primo becomes the exclusive manufacturing and distribution partner in Taiwan for Radelumin ([18F]PSMA-1007), a radiopharmaceutical used in prostate cancer diagnostics that has already been approved in multiple advanced markets. Primo began supplying the product for clinical use in Taiwan in June 2024.

To broaden its impact beyond prostate cancer, Primo is also accelerating the clinical development of two pipeline assets, PB011 and PB012, which are aimed at expanding the applications of radioligand theranostics across additional cancer types. These candidates offer lower development costs, shorter timelines, and reduced risks, enabling faster market entry and revenue generation, while creating a positive cycle that fuels further R&D and fosters the growth of next-generation radiopharmaceutical innovations.

Primo Biotechnology is a pioneering biotech company specializing in nuclear medicine and radiopharmaceutical development and manufacturing. The company continues to drive innovation in the field of precision oncology, leveraging internationally certified facilities and cutting-edge expertise. Headquartered in Taipei, Primo is committed to advancing molecular imaging and targeted radiotherapy solutions, aiming to offer new hope and improved treatment outcomes for cancer patients worldwide. Through strategic partnerships at home and abroad, Primo is accelerating the development of precision oncology, supported by its integrated capabilities in drug discovery, clinical translation, and GMP manufacturing to bring next-generation therapies to life.
