UnicoCell Biomed Advances Main Board Listing Plans, Focusing on Irreversible Diseases in Regenerative Medicine
2025-08-12

UnicoCell Biomed, a key player in the field of regenerative medicine, has officially launched its plan to transfer its listing to Taiwan’s main board. The company is currently focused on regenerative treatments for irreversible diseases. Among its core pipelines, the chronic kidney disease (CKD) therapy is expected to file for a Phase III clinical trial in Taiwan next year, while overseas licensing discussions are also underway. In addition, patient enrollment for its Phase III clinical trial targeting knee osteoarthritis is anticipated to be completed by the end of this year. Meanwhile, UnicoCell is expanding the scientific data surrounding its exosome technology for both aesthetic and therapeutic applications, broadening the scope of its raw material offerings.

UnicoCell emphasized that its strategic focus remains firmly on regenerative medicine and geriatric care for irreversible diseases, with no immediate plans to enter the oncology field. Of its two major clinical programs, both have reached advanced stages. The domestic Phase III trial for knee osteoarthritis is expected to complete full enrollment this year and continues to lead in trial progress among local competitors.

For chronic kidney disease, UnicoCell previously announced that its Phase I/II trial met its clinical endpoints and the results have been published in an international journal. The company now aims to accelerate consultation with Taiwan’s Center for Drug Evaluation (CDE) and expects to formally submit its Phase III trial application in 2026. If initiated, this would mark the first such trial of its kind in Taiwan.

UnicoCell also plans to significantly enhance the scientific validation of exosomes, a key component in its cell therapy platform. Preclinical animal studies are currently underway in areas such as ophthalmology, gynecology, and dermatology. By deepening its scientific data, the company aims to raise barriers to entry for competitors and position itself as a core supplier of clinically validated raw materials, driving broader commercial adoption in the future.
