AI-Driven Smart Healthcare: ASUS and Chang Gung Launch New “Healthy Taiwan” Engine
2025-09-20

In support of the “Healthy Taiwan” initiative, ASUS is actively advancing AI-driven smart healthcare. Through deep collaboration with Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, ASUS has implemented generative AI technology, successfully integrating advanced medical AI models and large language models into clinical practice. This effort has comprehensively enhanced medical efficiency and patient care quality, setting a new benchmark for healthcare technology in Taiwan.

Taiwan’s comprehensive National Health Insurance database, combined with world-class medical and technological capabilities, provides a strong foundation for the “Healthy Taiwan” policy. ASUS, together with its subsidiaries ASUS Cloud, Taiwan Web Service Corporation (TaiZhiYun), and Taiwan Health and Bio DataBank Technology INC. (TaiShengKe), participated in the “2025 Healthy Taiwan: Smart, Regenerative, and Precision Medicine International Symposium” held by Chang Gung Memorial Hospital on September 6.

Peter Wu, General Manager of ASUS Cloud and TaiZhiYun, delivered a presentation titled “Healthcare 4.0: Building the Digital Foundation for Future Medical Care Services.” He shared ASUS’s three-layer framework for next-generation smart healthcare, covering digital infrastructure, platforms, and applications, emphasizing how integrated hardware and software capabilities can drive digital transformation in medical institutions.

Under long-term collaboration, ASUS and Chang Gung have achieved substantial results across AI-assisted diagnostics, voice applications, and smart care. In medical voice applications, the partners have actively verified and implemented an automated “pharmacist consultation” workflow, which integrates voice recognition, transcription, and summary generation. When connected to the HIS (Hospital Information System), this system improves communication efficiency between pharmacists and patients, enhances medication safety, strengthens comprehensive medication record management, and facilitates team collaboration and follow-up care.

Additionally, TaiZhiYun and ASUS Cloud Software Center jointly assisted Chang Gung in building a one-stop AI inference cloud platform. By integrating generative AI assistants based on large language models, the platform enables AI-assisted diagnostics, including osteoporosis risk screening, ventricular function prediction, and rapid emergency pneumoperitoneum assessment, significantly improving diagnostic speed and accuracy.

AI-powered medical record writing assistants and voice systems simplify documentation workflows, enable zero-touch recording, and integrate IoT data for home care, providing real-time and precise care recommendations.

During the symposium, ASUS also showcased multiple smart healthcare products, including the VivoWatch smart health watch, handheld wireless ultrasound, EndoAim endoscopic AI solution, remote healthcare kiosks, and medical voice solutions.

TaiShengKe focuses on applying real-world data and AI in pharmaceuticals and medical devices. By empowering hospitals with medical information, it strengthens data governance and clinical decision-making, builds a smart healthcare ecosystem, and advances personalized health management. TaiZhiYun’s three core services—on-premises AI infrastructure solutions, model optimization and inference services, and the AIHPC cloud platform—collaborate with hospitals to drive smart healthcare applications.

The ASUS–Chang Gung partnership not only demonstrates Taiwan’s strong capabilities in medical AI innovation but also represents the practical realization of a new AI-driven smart healthcare paradigm. Looking ahead, ASUS will continue working with medical institutions to upgrade healthcare services through AI technology and digital transformation, positioning Taiwan as a key hub for smart healthcare and AI applications in the Asia-Pacific region.
