TaiRx Launches Own Health Supplement Brand to Build a Second Revenue Stream

Aiming to establish a second pillar for its operations, emerging biotech company TaiRx has announced the launch of its own health supplement brand. The new product line, featuring an exclusive “selenium” ingredient, debuted yesterday and will be available both in physical stores and online platforms. Chairman Andrew Lin stated that the brand is expected to generate NT$500 million in annual revenue, providing a new source of cash flow for the company. TaiRx also plans to apply for a public listing next year, transitioning from over-the-counter (OTC) trading.

Lin emphasized that since the company’s founding over a decade ago, TaiRx has adhered to a professional mission of safeguarding health. “In the past, we focused on treatments for major diseases and achieved remarkable results in clinical research. Today’s launch of our own health supplement brand marks an important step forward, signaling that in the future we aim not only to deepen our new drug R&D but also to create another stable revenue stream,” he said.

The new products feature a core ingredient, a rare trace element called selenium, which has antioxidant properties 2,000 times stronger than vitamin E. TaiRx previously secured the only domestic drug approval for this rare material, and by using pharmaceutical-grade ingredients for supplements, the company is effectively leveraging its high-quality R&D into the consumer health market. The first product is now available through TaiRx’s official website as well as in physical stores including POYA, Dashu Pharmacy, and Sunyou Drugstores, with online platforms such as momo to follow. TaiRx plans to expand the line into a full series of supplements, with projected annual revenue exceeding NT$500 million.

Lin added that, in addition to generating a second stream of cash flow, the supplement brand complements TaiRx’s ongoing new drug licensing initiatives, allowing the company to capitalize on years of R&D investment. This strategic move will also support TaiRx’s plan to transition from OTC trading to a public listing next year.
