HCMED INNOVATIONS, a CDMO company specializing in drug–device combination inhalation products, announced on the 7th that it has formed a global strategic partnership with Aerogen, the world leader in acute and critical care aerosol drug delivery devices. Under this collaboration, HCMED will grant exclusive global licensing rights of its medical nebulizer product Pulmogine to Aerogen, enabling patients to enjoy a seamless treatment experience from hospital care to home therapy.

Headquartered in Ireland, Aerogen is the first company worldwide to pioneer high-efficiency aerosol drug delivery technology in the critical care field. Its technologies and products have been adopted by top hospitals in more than 75 countries, benefiting over 25 million patients globally.

John Power, Founder and CEO of Aerogen, stated, “With the increasing focus on respiratory disease treatment in the post-pandemic era and the growing need for continuity of care after hospital discharge, Aerogen’s collaboration with HCMED allows us to deliver an end-to-end solution from hospital to home. Pulmogine’s FDA approval in February 2024 for cross-label use with Pulmozyme (dornase alfa) for cystic fibrosis will further support Aerogen’s expansion from hospital-based treatment into post-acute care markets in the U.S. and globally.”
