Andros Pharmaceuticals announced on the 5th that its cash capital increase—priced at NT$17 per share—has been fully subscribed, raising NT$170 million. The base date for the capital increase is November 6. Chairperson AE-JUNE WANG stated that the funds will be used to advance the company’s two flagship drug candidates, APC201 and APC101, through clinical trials, accelerating development and business expansion to deliver substantive growth for the company.
The company noted that APC201, a new drug designed to relieve localized pain associated with knee osteoarthritis, has completed its Phase I/IIa clinical trial. Results showed that both primary and secondary endpoints demonstrated meaningful clinical improvement, coupled with a favorable safety and tolerability profile. The trial also provided preliminary evidence of pain reduction in participants. Andros Pharmaceuticals is now planning a global multicenter Phase IIb/III trial and has initiated external licensing discussions in parallel.
APC101, a new spray formulation intended to treat postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), has also completed a systemic Phase IIa clinical trial in Australia. The results indicated good safety and a trend toward analgesic efficacy, with particularly notable pain relief in trigeminal neuralgia affecting the head and neck region. APC101 is currently undergoing a Phase II clinical trial in Taiwan targeting PHN in the head and neck area, with patient enrollment underway at Tri-Service General Hospital, Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital, and Shuang Ho Hospital. As no approved treatments currently exist for this indication, the company aims to complete enrollment as quickly as possible to expedite the drug’s path to market.
In addition, Andros Pharmaceuticals is preparing applications for systemic Phase IIb/III trials of APC101 in the United States and Australia, while simultaneously engaging with partners on potential technology transfer and licensing opportunities. The company is executing a multi-pronged strategy to accelerate the global commercialization of APC101 and address urgent unmet medical needs.
WANG emphasized that Andros Pharmaceuticals specializes in drug delivery platform technologies and formulation development. Beyond novel formulations and new drug development, the company is also working with domestic partners to enter the high-barrier niche generic drug market. Its initial focus is securing first-to-market generic approvals in Taiwan, followed by expansion into international markets.
Looking ahead, Andros Pharmaceuticals will continue to accelerate clinical progress for its novel drug formulations, increase product value, and enhance licensing opportunities. At the same time, it will advance technology transfer and expand distribution channels for niche generic drugs. Through this dual-engine strategy, the company aims to strengthen overall competitiveness and achieve key operational milestones.
