Medimaging Integrated Solution (MIS) announced yesterday that its disposable bronchoscope has been exclusively licensed in the United States to Tri-anim Health Services, a subsidiary of the U.S.-based professional medical distributor Sarnova, which specializes in respiratory care, anesthesia, and critical care medical products. MIS has begun shipping products in the fourth quarter, though initial volumes remain modest as the distributor continues expanding its market coverage.

Sarnova is a national medical products distributor focused on the emergency medical services (EMS) and respiratory care markets. The group operates several subsidiaries, including Tri-anim Health Services, which has provided respiratory, anesthesia, and critical care solutions for more than 45 years. Tri-anim serves hospitals, integrated health systems, and a wide range of patient care institutions, making it a significant player in the U.S. medical distribution landscape.

MIS’s disposable bronchoscope, cleared through the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s 510(k) process, offers notable differentiation and advantages over existing products on the market. These include a higher-resolution imaging sensor, a smaller insertion tube diameter, a larger working channel, a higher suction rate, and a rotatable suction connector. The device is designed to meet diverse diagnostic and therapeutic needs from the airway down to the bronchial tree. In addition to the U.S., the product has also obtained medical device approvals in Taiwan and Japan.

Aric Vacchiano, President of Sarnova’s Acute Care Division, stated that the company is honored to partner with MIS. He noted that MIS’s innovation in optical design and medical imaging technology complements Sarnova’s distribution strengths in emergency and respiratory care. The collaboration is expected to significantly enhance clinical efficiency and patient safety in airway management and respiratory therapy. He added that the partnership represents not only a business alignment but also an important milestone in advancing medical technology innovation.

MIS holds core expertise in miniature imaging sensor modules and packaging for disposable endoscopes. Its partnership with the industry-leading Sarnova Group allows the company to leverage Sarnova’s extensive distribution network to promote its disposable bronchoscope across the United States, further demonstrating the strong development and manufacturing capability of Taiwan’s MIT technologies. Chairman Cheng, Chu-Ming stated that the collaboration will accelerate MIS’s expansion in the North American market and underscores the global medical industry’s recognition of Taiwan’s R&D strength and product quality. He expressed hopes that MIS will continue delivering safer and more efficient clinical solutions to the global healthcare market.

With growing public awareness of infection control and increasing acceptance of disposable medical devices—combined with the widespread adoption of minimally invasive procedures—disposable endoscopes are expected to become a mainstream trend. MIS noted that shipments have begun this quarter, though volumes remain limited in the early stage; greater sales impact will follow as the distributor expands market penetration.
