2025-08-06 Ministry of Digital Affairs to Launch Taiwan Sovereign AI Corpus in Q4 The Ministry of Digital Affairs has proposed the “Data Innovation and Utilization Promotion Act” and held a briefing on July 15 to explain key aspects of the draft legislation. Among the highlights is the plan to build Taiwan’s sovereign AI corpus by establishing standard licensing terms and conducting data inventories across government agencies. The corpus is scheduled to launch in the fourth quarter.

Lu to Serve as CEO and Drive IPO Efforts Leadtek Biomed, a biotech subsidiary of Leadtek, recently raised NT$100 million in capital and brought in high-profile strategic partners. Memory giant ADATA acquired a 41% stake, becoming the largest shareholder. ADATA Chairman Simon Chen has taken over as Chairman of Leadtek Biomed from Leadtek’s Chairman K.S. Lu. The company registration update was completed at the end of June.

Chang-Hai Tsai, Chairman of China Medical University and Healthcare System, stated that the CMU system will focus on the development of intelligent medical robots, including care robots, companion robots, disinfection robots, and nursing robots. The company’s cumulative revenue for the first half of the year reached NT$107 million, representing a 20.10% year-on-year growth.
